Un análisis regional de la actividad huelguística en España

Resumen:	España es el país con mayor conflictividad laboral en la UE. Además, las cifras muestran diferencias relevantes por Comunidades Autónomas. En esta nota se lleva a cabo un análisis de la frecuencia, participación y las jornadas no trabajadas en huelgas durante el periodo 1987-2006, relacionándolas con la distribución sectorial del empleo, la tasa de paro, la existencia de pactos y acuerdos regionales y la orientación política de la población. Las regresiones muestran la influencia de todos estos aspectos sobre la frecuencia, la magnitud y el volumen de huelgas.
A regional study of strikes in Spain
Abstract:	Spain is the country with the highest number of industrial disputes in the European Union. Moreover, figures show relevant differences across regions. In this article, an analysis is made of the strike frequency, participation and lost working days during the period 1987-2006. We relate these figures to the industrial distribution of employment, the unemployment rate, the existence of regional pacts and agreements and the political orientation of the population. The regressions show the influence of all these aspects on the frequency, the magnitude and the volume of strikes.
